2026 Spring CRS Champions
Purdue Varsity Gold carved their name into CRS history last Saturday as they claimed victory in the Grand Finals against the reigning champion, Nebraska Esports.
In the playoff weekend prior, Purdue won six straight match-ups to advance them into the finals. Those 6 big wins against Cal Esports, Cal Poly Pomona Infinite, the GBU Huskies, USC, the Drexel Dragons and the #2 ranked KSU Ascend moved them forward.
Then, in the semi-finals, they defeated the FIU Panthers in an intensely close, 5-game match-up followed by another close, 5-game back-and-forth win in the finals against #1 ranked Georgia Tech to place them in the Grand Finals. They completed their epic journey by winning a surprising 3 straight games over Nebraska to win the championship crown.
The top 6 teams will split this season's $2,500 prize with Purdue's victory giving them the top prize of $1,000. Nebraska Esport's 2nd place position earned them $625 and Georgia Tech's 3rd place grants them $375.
Congratulations and thanks to all 52 teams, their schools, the CRS staff, broadcasting team, and sponsors that helped make this an epic season to remember!
Plans are underway for the Summer Series with CRS so stay tuned right here on the CRS website and on Discord for more.
