News from CRS Week 4!
Heavy hitters colliding in Week 4 added up to some really great games last weekend!
The #1 ranked Cal Poly Infinite was knocked out of the top spot in the rankings by the #2, still undefeated Indiana Tech. The then #3 ranked Toronto Avengers, also currently undefeated, stopped the 4th ranked Matadors Black. In a very close match to the end, the UC Berkeley Hero Shooters edged out Georgia Tech Gold, 2 games to 1.
Week 5 promises more of the same when the last two undefeated teams, #1 Indiana Tech (4-0) faces the #2 Toronto Avengers (4-0), #6 Kansas State (3-1) goes against #5 University of Iowa (3-1), #3 Nebraska (3-1) will be up against #4 Cal Poly Infinite and #7 UC Berkeley (3-1) will face #8 CSUN Matadors Black (3-1).
With 4 weeks to go in the regular season, anything can happen. The top 16 teams will reach the playoffs. And at this moment all 28 teams are still in the running!
Also of note, one of Georgia Tech's top players, fraud, was unable to play in this weekend's CRS match due to being part of the professional Marvel Rivals team DarkZero. DarkZero is one of the top 12 qualifying teams from around the world that is currently playing in the Marvel Rivals Ignite World Finals from October 27th through November 2nd at Dreamhack in Atlanta. The 1st place prize for this year's Ignite is $320,000 from the $1,000,000 prize pool that will be divided among the 12 teams. Let's Go DarkZero!
