Official Rules
Comprehensive rules and guidelines for the Collegiate Rivals Series
1. Player Eligibility
To be eligible to compete in the Collegiate Rivals Series, players must:
- Be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 or equivalent academic standing.
- Be taking at least 6 credit hours of courses during the competitive season.
- Have a valid Marvel Rivals account in good standing.
Graduate students are eligible as long as they meet the above requirements.
1.1 Eligibility Verification
All players must submit proof of enrollment before the start of each season. Acceptable forms of verification include:
- Screenshot of current class schedule with identifiable information.
- Letter from school registrar.
- Current student ID with valid dates.
2. Team Requirements
Team composition and requirements:
- Each team must have a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 12 players.
- All team members must attend the same university.
- Each team must designate one player as Team Captain.
- Teams may optionally designate a Coach who does not need to be a student and does not count toward the 12-player roster limit. When a team already has 12 players, additional members automatically become coaches.
2.1 Team Registration
Teams must register through the official CRS website with the following information:
- University name and official contact.
- Team name and logo (must be appropriate and not infringe on copyright).
- Roster of all players with their Marvel Rivals IDs.
- Designated team captain and contact information.
3. Gameplay Rules
Match format and gameplay rules:
- Matches are played in best-of-5 format (first to 3 wins).
- Maps are selected through a ban/pick process before each match.
- Each team has 5 minutes between games for substitutions and strategy discussions.
- Teams must use the official CRS spectator lobby settings.
3.1 Disconnections
In case of disconnections during a match:
- If a player disconnects in the first 60 seconds, the game may be restarted.
- If a player disconnects after 60 seconds, teams must continue to play.
- A team may pause up to twice per game for a maximum of 5 minutes total.
3.2 Bug Exploits
Exploiting known bugs or glitches is strictly prohibited.
- League administrators will determine if a bug was exploited intentionally.
- Penalties for intentional bug exploitation range from game forfeiture to season disqualification.
- Players should report any bugs encountered during gameplay to league administrators.
4. Code of Conduct
All participants must adhere to the following code of conduct:
- Show respect to all players, teams, administrators, and spectators.
- No harassment, discrimination, or hate speech will be tolerated.
- Maintain professionalism during all league activities.
- Adhere to all university and Marvel Rivals policies.
5. Season Schedule
The typical season structure is as follows:
- Registration Period: 3 weeks before season start
- Regular Season: 8 weeks of round-robin play
- Playoffs: Top 8 teams in single elimination bracket
- Championship Finals: Best-of-7 series
